| JERRY PETTY - SPECIAL EVENTS CHAIRMAN |
Gentlemen, thank you very much for your hard work and effort at the Big Buck Classic! Having extra people there not only gave us more demo time on the forging and grinding but it also gave us more people to talk to people in the crowd who were interested in what we were doing.
Again, thank you for your hard work, and I hope you learned enough from Jim Crowell and Lin Rhea to help you in your knife making!
Jerry Petty
2011 BIG BUCK CLASSIC
(to be announced)
Members of the Arkansas Knifemakers Association will give knife forging, grinding, and cutting demonstrations. The State of Arkansas has more Master Smiths than any other state in the Union!
A great opportunity for the Arkansas Knifemakers Association and its members!
The Arkansas Knife Makers Association has been invited to participate in the Big Buck Classic. We will have a prime location just outside the main entry into Barton Coliseum, located at the State Fair Grounds in Little Rock, AR. The attendance at this event is expected to be around 40,000! See the Big Buck Classic website at www.bigbuckclassic.com for the times and other special events.
If any has any questions or wants to volunteer, they can call me at work 501-791-2860, home 501-221-9796 or my cell 501-352-1890.
We will be giving grinding, forging and cutting demonstrations. The cutting demos will be advertised and on the main stage in Barton Coliseum each day. The number of demos will depend upon how many volunteers we can get to help!
Steve Wildman Wilson with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission is planning on having a camera crew film various aspects of our demonstrations and feature these activities on his television show just prior to the AKA Knife Show. One or more of us might even be given the opportunity to appear on TV with Steve!
We will need volunteers for the following: 1. On stage Cutting Demonstrations. 2. Grinding demonstrations at our booth. 3. Forging demonstrations 4. Members to answer questions and educate on-lookers about the knife making process.
We will not be selling knives at the event, but you can certainly pass out business cards and take orders!
If you have any questions or want to participate, please contact Jerry Petty at work (501-791-2860), home (501-221-9796) or email at littlerock@cratersandfreighters.com
